Together with Bob Marley and Bunny Wailer, Tosh became one of the leaders of reggae music during the 1970s. While Marley prepared more and more to compromise in performing for Babylon and Bunny Wailer stayed in his Jamaican home, Peter Tosh remained a straight fighter. Intransigent, contrary and always good for praying the holy word that is: GANJA! In the end his indignation may have been the reason why he got killed by a burglar as Peter tried to impede him." Obviously, the tracks on 'Toughest' were drawn from the six Tosh albums Capitol had rights to from 1978 to 1987. What's lacking are Tosh's more militant songs. Included are "Don't Look Back" (with Mick Jagger), "Pick Myself Up" and "Bush Doctor" (produced by The Glimmer Twins).
