REMASTERED FROM ORIGINAL ANALOGUE TAPES. It is widely believed that one of the best albums of Grossman's career was Love Is the Thing, released in May 1985. Accompanied by the Cedar Walton Trio, who were touring Europe at the time with their transitional sound from bebob to hard bop, this record features a Grossman who looked more to the Sonny Rollins of the 1950s for inspiration than to the formative influence of the great John Coltrane. If you are looking for an album of ballads Love Is the Thing is a must-have choice.
