After more than a decade of almost total silence, Boards of Canada return with "Inferno", their long-awaited fifth studio album and first full-length release since "Tomorrow’s Harvest" (2013). The release is scheduled for May 29, 2026 via Warp Records.

The album's launch has been as deliberately enigmatic as the duo themselves. In early 2026, fans received mysterious VHS tapes with archival footage and distorted audio, followed by the release of “Tape 05” on YouTube – the duo's first new recording in 13 years. A haunting, yet ethereal piece of music, culminating in a beautiful harp melody and marking one of their most heartbreaking musical moments from BOC to date.
