The Valvasone Organ Book: Music For The 16Th Century Vincenzo Colombi Organ
Manuel Tomadin
The Valvasone Organ Book returns sixteenth-century Venetian keyboard repertory to its historical medium: Vincenzo Colombi's organ at Valvasone. Quarter-comma meantone, high pitch, low wind pressure and a vivid ripieno palette define a sound world in which ricercari, toccate and canzoni da sonare recover registration itself as a rhetorical act shaped by the affections and by space.
