Fischer, Nora / Marnix Dorrestein
Hush, no more / Be silent, all.
HUSH's essence is revealed in the title track's opening line: this is a record about intimacy.
Nora Fischer hails from a family of early music practitioners and has loved the music of Monteverdi, Purcell and Dowland from an early age. However, she has always heard an alternative version of their songs in her mind. HUSH is the result of this long cherished dream.
In Marnix Dorrestein Nora has found the perfect companion to help bring her vision to life: a pop musician new to the world of early music but with an open mind and an eagerness to delve deeper. Using only their voices and an electric guitar, Nora and Marnix retain the spirit of these treasured songs while simultaneously redefining them. They strip the music to its core, looking beyond established interpretations to reveal timeless beauty and continued relevance to a wider audience.
