Collection of three crime and horror films starring Boris Karloff. In 'Night Key' (1937) David Mallory (Karloff), the eccentric inventor of a high-tech security system, is kidnapped by a gang of burglars who want him to help them commit a series of robberies. In 'The Climax' (1944) demented physician Dr Friedrich Hohner (Karloff) murders his mistress, opera singer Marcellina (June Vincent).
A decade later he hears another singer, Angela Klatt (Susanna Foster) who reminds him of his former lover and is again driven to make her sing only for him. Finally, in 'The Black Castle' (1952) British gentleman Sir Ronald Burton (Richard Greene) investigates the mysterious disappearance of two of his friends. When he learns that they were working for the dangerous Count von Bruno (Stephen McNally) he sets out to find out what really happened to them.
As he gets closer to the truth, he discovers that his friends have fallen victim to Count von Bruno's vendetta against the British forces and he must find a way to help them escape. Meanwhile Dr Meissen (Karloff) risks his life to help Burton's captive friends.
