Billy Bragg & Wilco | Mermaid Avenue Series (2026 Reissues)
The Mermaid Avenue series is one of the most successful and unusual folk-rock collaborations of the last few decades. At its core, the project took previously unpublished Woody Guthrie lyrics and set them to entirely new music composed and performed by Billy Bragg and Wilco. Celebrated for honoring Guthrie's spirit while creating something entirely new, the Mermaid Avenue recordings remain a landmark achievement in folk and Americana music.
The three volumes are now being made available separately on vinyl anew (breakouts from The Complete Sessions box set). All three volumes will also be compiled in an expanded 4CD edition with a bonus disc of demos and other recordings, most of which are previously unreleased.

Billy Bragg is one of the UK's most influential songwriters and musicians, known for combining folk, rock, and politically engaged lyrics throughout a career spanning more than four decades.
Wilco emerged from the 1990s alternative country scene and developed into one of the USA's most acclaimed rock bands. The group is known for its experimental sound and enduring influence on indie and americana music.
Woody Guthrie remains one of the most important figures in American folk music. His songs and lyrics helped define the genre and have inspired generations of musicians, including Bob Dylan, Bruce Springsteen, and countless others.
Together, Billy Bragg, Wilco, and Woody Guthrie's lyrics formed the foundation for the groundbreaking Mermaid Avenue recordings, which bridged the gap between folk music traditions and modern songwriting.
