Yngwie Malmsteen | Hell or High Water

When the conversation turns to history's greatest guitarists – and especially the musicians who have created a completely new style and sound on the instrument – Yngwie J. Malmsteen naturally belongs among pioneering names such as Jimi Hendrix, Jimmy Page, and Edward Van Halen.

His latest work and fourth release with Mascot Label Group has been titled "Hell Or High Water". The album's nine tracks were created with great care and purpose, far away from the distractions that can easily slow down the creative process in a modern world.

Malmsteen first tried this working method on Parabellum from 2021 – mainly due to the global situation at the time – and the result was so successful that he decided to continue in the same way going forward. Like its predecessor, "Hell Or High Water" therefore stands as a complete and uncompromising work from its creator.

Many years after early albums like Rising Force and Marching Out, Yngwie J. Malmsteen appears more focused than ever. If the music feels right to him, that's enough – if others also like it, that's just a bonus. It was precisely this creative strength and resolute self-will that helped make him one of the most well-known names among guitar enthusiasts.
