A la flor del chirimoyo

An extra-large print classic senior reader poetry book for Spanish speakers - plus coloring pages. For the elderly and other with low vision. For our diverse elder communities, senior activities, occupational therapy, gifts, service projects, and more. Summary. This poem by Clemente Althaus of Peru (1835-1881) praises the flowers of the cherimoya trees, which are very fragrant with a fruity aroma. Cherimoya fruit, also known as "custard apple" was described by Mark Twain as "the most delicious fruit known to men" and was one of the staple foods of the Inca. It is still a very popular fruit in Latin America, Spain, and Asia. In this poem, Clemente Althaus praises the pale green cherimoya flowers as having a "divine aroma" ... among other flowers in the garden "so many ally flowers" which are "brilliant country jewels" but not as fragrant. Clemente Althaus also describes how the cherimoya flower "announces the fruits that it precedes". Una lectura para personas de la tercera edad, impresa con una letra de 48 puntos de tamaño, que incluye hojas de actividades
