Three Generations of Trauma and the Making of Lady Machli is based on a true story. The story takes place in Philadelphia, PA in the United States of America. Lady Machli was born to a mother who had schizophrenia. She was also raised in a religious cult. Her family believed they were the original Jews. Lady Machli was placed in an arranged marriage at the age of 15. She also never saw a television until the age of 18 years old. When she became an adult she discovered that her Grandmother and Mother ended up marrying into this store front church as a result of their own vulnerability. They were vulnerable due to extreme sexual and physical abuse. She discovered that her grandmother was raped at the age of 14 in 1957 by a white male resulting in the birth of her mother in 1958. This led to her allowing Machli's mother to be molested as a child and then Machli's mother allowed Machli to be abused as well. Today Machli is a Master's Level Clinician and Adjunct Professor. She has also become a mother to many via her resiliency and desire to make the world a better place.
