Kahlil Gibran was a Lebanese-American artist, poet and a writer. He was known as the 'Sonneteer of Washington Street'. Gibran is the third most-read poet in the world. His creative endeavours won many hearts. While most of Gibran's early writings were in Arabic, major of his work published after 1918 was in English. Gibran's best-known work is "The Prophet", a book comprising of 28 poetic essays. In Lebanon, he is still celebrated as a literary hero.
