Concurrent Infection in Goats: Interaction and Pathogenic Effects of Trypanosoma Congolense and Haemonchus Contortus

The increased pathogenecity of the Trypanosome and Haemonchus parasites was observed in mixed infection than mono infections. Marked changes in parasitological, haematological and other measured parameters was observed in mixed infected groups. The preceding infection with Trypanosoma congolense resulted in pronounced changes in all measured parameters than the subsequent infection of this parasite by Haemonchus contortus.
