Okra (Abelmoschus esculentus L. Moench) is one of the chief and abundant vegetable grown extensively throughout the world in summer and rainy seasons. It shows it?s presence in all corners of the globe because of easy cultivation, dependable yield and adaptability to varying moisture conditions. It is necessary to determine how newly developed genotypes respond under field conditions so that an experiment was conducted for two seasons seasons i.e., zaid and kharif season 2011 at Horticulture Instructional Farm, C. P. College of Agriculture, S. D. Agricultural University, Sardarkrushinagar. Where in seven okra varieties Arka Anamika, Phule Utkarsha, Gujarat Okra-2, Arka Abhay, Perkins Long Green, Gujarat Okra-1 and Parbhani Kranti were studied for growth, flowering and yield parameters. The experimental results showed that, with respect to maximum growth attributes, early flowering and highest yield and quality attributes with highest B: C ratio, the variety GO-2 performed better over other varieties in both the seasons i.e., zaid and kharif season. Findings of study inferred that variety Gujarat Okra-2 (GO-2) may be used as a dual season cultivar.
