Dynamics of Dissatisfaction and Personal Development: the Role of Dissatisfaction in Improving Human Development

The development of individuals has always been a function of factors related to a state of dissatisfaction with one's current condition. This study sought to analyse how dissatisfaction propells individuals to develop themselves. A closer look was given to employees in the banking sector in Masvingo, Zimbabwe. The study found out that dissatisfaction though not a pleasant state was functional for personal development. It helps to propel people to strive to achieve more, so they move away from their dissatisfied state. On the other hand, dissatisfaction, if not managed properly can result in tragic events such as suicide.
