The Sleeper Awakes by H. G. Wells is a Dystopian Science Fiction novel Published in 1910. It is a about Graham, a man who by chance becomes owner and master of the world. His story begins in 1897, when Graham falls into a sleep for two centuries. He awakes in 2100, in a futuristic London. He soon learns that he became the mythical Sleeper, the richest and most powerful person in the world. Graham's money has been put into a trust. Over the years, the trustees, named "White Council", have used his wealth to establish a vast political and economic world order, forcing the people to live under social injustice and misery. At the same time, the people see him as a savior.
