Weather is the state of the atmosphere, and is constantly changing due to the day/night transitions, and the effects of the lunar gravity on the oceans. We need good weather forecasts from reasons ranging from grabbing a raincoat, to evacuating a pending disaster. Schools have traditionally participated in a data gathering effort for thr National Weather Service, originally phoning the data back. The more data points, the better, but with Satellite observations, better accuracy is achieved. Weather is an interesting topic, and one in which it is easy for students to engage
