THE LANDSCAPES OF PATER is a poetic novel about a young man who searches for his roots and identity. He has recurrent dreams and fantasies about his Mediterranean background. His Sardinian father died when Nick Pater was very young, but Nick can not avoid identifying with him, and he is drawn towrd that male image as he grows up and matures. Friends, relatives, photographs, all are part of the landscape that he explores. Eventually, he takes a trip to Sardinia (Italy), and many of his questions are answered.
