Thomas Sparks, like so many others, ignored the telltale signs of world economic disaster. He is a computer expert, and was aware of the impending problems with Y2K. He finally took his head out of the sand, faced the reality of a world going mad due to economic collapse and saw a world without electrical power, fossil fuels, ultimately, without food. The doomsayers were having a heyday, ignoring their own proclaimed signs or prophecies, and the year 2000 would be the end. Thomas reviews these prophesies, dispels the doomsayers untruths and puts things into their proper perspective. Due to the chaos caused by the failure of the worlds economy, Thomas has to survive without electricity, fossil fuels, grocery stores and without contact with outsiders. He has two years to prepare and five years to survive.
