I attended a conference in company of Sade, my women rights activist friend. As we traveled, she never ceased to tell stories of how women are today abused, dehumanized and violated. Her stories were convincing and quite plausible. We got to Nairobi and she insisted that I step out to open the door for her. Having listened to her talk about gender equality, I protested that if I can do it, she too can. She however insisted that there are stuff reserved for men and those for women -That was where I found the problem.
