Preacher and Prayer
Edward M. Bounds
E. M. Bounds offered perhaps a more profound understanding of prayer than any other contemporary Christian thinker. His classic books on the personal communication with God explore how prayer must come from the whole being and strengthens faith in Christian lives. It is through prayer that we share our thoughts and desires our father God. Doing good works, communion, church activities and the like, do not and should not replace prayer. Prayer must be a priority in our lives. If you do not pray, God will probably lay you aside from your ministry as he did me, to teach you to pray. Remember Luther's maxim, "To have prayed well is to have studied well." Get your text from God, your thoughts, your words. -McCheyne. In Preacher and Prayer E. M. Bounds addresses; Study universal holiness of life, The Spirit of God, Orthodoxy in Prayer, Prayer, in the Preacher's Life and much more.
