Penn was one of the earliest known advocates of democracy and religious freedom and he also helped develop city of Philadelphia. Penn was also a prolific writer and his book No Cross, No Crown is a Christian classic. A Brief Account of the Rise and Progress of the People Called Quakers provides an excellent look at the history surrounding the Quaker movement.
