Decision Making
Makarand Arvind Paithankar
An organization is a unique living organism whose basic component is the individual. Organization is a structure of decision makers in which, all the administrative functions boil down to one point that is decision making. Decision making is the act of determining one's own mind upon an opinion or course of action. It is selection based on criteria of one behaviour alternative from two or more available alternatives. It is simple to state that alternatives are evaluated in terms of their probable outcomes but to determine the relative merit is usually difficult. The requirement is to make comparison based on values. An individual's impulses affects their choice of values, their impulses are not fixed from the beginning but are modified by their circumstances and their way of life. Impulse is at the basis of human activity.
