The constant physical challenge that LaVerne has endured for over five decades from a body diagnosed with cerebral palsy, in no way compares to the emotional pain she has endured for many years, often from those who once professed to care deeply for her. It is in these circumstances that she has found herself, not only trapped in body--but also in mind and spirit.
