Albacora is the story of a young man who's left home in search of a new life and a job on a fishing boat. He travels to Westport, Washington hunting for that elusive first position and while his funds dwindle, his spirit and imagination thrive. He finds that job and while he and his new skipper fight and argue, they catch albacore, a lot of albacore. Thirty miles off the coast of Oregon and Washington, our young fisherman's imagination gets the better of him as the placid little vessel encounters Russian nuclear subs, a crashing Coast Guard helicopter, food fantasies and more, all products of a very vivid youthful spirit. Take a fishing trip from the comfort of dry land, and "plug the hold" along with our young adventurer.
