Don't Look Back

International intrigue about one woman's journey in the world of human trafficking, set in 2001. Ree Sowerby is from French parentage, and lives in England quite peacefully, apart from the fact that her second husband is in jail. But when her first husband is murdered, she has to identify his body, and from that moment, her life unravels. A past life, including trafficker of all things Henri Prieux, appears in her rear-view mirror. Ree doesn't want to look back, but she'll have to do just that. Enter Inspector Randolph Trewen, from Interpol National Central Bureau in London. Interpol wants Prieux, and after 9/11, the CIA want him as well. Ree is the connection. Perhaps the plan is to use her as a tethered goat? But she's one step ahead of everyone in her own reckless way. The pragmatic Trewen falls for her, but even he gets left behind as Ree crashes on. This wide-screen novel spans thirty years and many countries. Some readers will think that Ree is just a psychopath at a loose end. But she is such good company in what is half her own journey and half police proceedural, through to its fateful ending. Enjoy.
