Grammar School Math for Instructors* *who also happen to be parents, home schoolers, or au pairs

2020 has been a year! Many of us must take on new and challenging roles due to health and safety concerns. Schools have become increasingly on-line. That loss of face-time between teacher and student means that the student needs to find help at home. However, at home math instruction has been a reality and a problem for many for a long time. We can expect that helping your child understand math will be a challenge even into the future. So, whether you are a teacher, home schooler, home care provider to children, or a conscientious parent AND mathematics is not your strong suit, this book is for you. If math is a breeze for you, you may still want this book as an outline of course material to cover per grade to develop that exceptional mathematician! This Grammar school math set is different than any other you will find.1. The intended audience is for the non-math-trained "instructor" of math.2. However, school Superintendents, Principals, or Teachers may find this book useful to loan out to their students' parents, especially as much of the learning is being transitioned to "at home".3. Math teachers may find this book useful as a source for more instruction, referring sections that match their curriculum.4. The scope of learning is slightly advanced of what your student would get in a public school curriculum. In fact, by the time they finish 7th Grade they will have had as much as an 8th Grader.5. The style of education from Grade 1 is to make math sensible, not some formulaic mystery.6. There are some examples of the newly-learned material, HOWEVER, there are no endless problems for the student to solve. The expectation is that after instruction the student should be able to create their own problems. They should be encouraged to create the simplest possible problem that any peer could solve AND some very challenging problems that can "stump the teacher".7. A compendium book with Word problems is planned but not currently available. Word problems are generally more challenging for students, but more realistic to what math issues will be encountered in their life.8. Good luck and happy mathing.
