The Last Benediction in Steel

Sir Luther Slythe Krait has a problem. He and his friends are dying.

Starving, on the run, and driven before a gale of ruin and slaughter, they seek a safe haven to hunker down in, to rest, recoup, regather.

The backwater port of Haeskenburg seems to answer all their prayers.

But Sir Luther knows Haeskenburg. He wishes he didn't.

Haeskenburg has a secret, you see. Dark and ancient and stifled away from the light of day, but poised once more to rear its ugly head.

Caught between the hammer and the anvil, Sir Luther walks a razor's edge. Balance or fall, there lies but one certainty: He will bleed.

Experience the sublime catharsis of total annihilation.

Read the epic grimdark fantasy today.

Questions with the author:

Q: This is the second book in 'The Serpent Knight Saga.' How does it differ from 'Lords of Asylum?'

The Last Benediction in Steel picks up pretty much where Lords of Asylum left off. There's about a two month break between the two and 'Last Bene' starts off with Sir Luther and some of his crew on the run from Asylum City.

'Last Bene' is different in that it's less of a who-done-it? than LOA. It's still the same noir fantasy detective told from the first person, but it's less about the murder than about the ongoing sword and sorcery adventure. Will Sir Luther survive? Will his friends? Will they still be his friends when all's said and done?

Q: The last book featured a monster from myths and legends. What does Last Bene offer?

Without giving anything away, my plan is for every book in this series to showcase some type of mythical creature / monster, but with a new take on it. 'Last Bene' is no exception. But I'll say no more.

Q: Can you mention anything?

I guess I can tell you what monsters I plan on using at some time or another. All the epics from myth and legend: werewolves, dragons, vampires, giants, goblins, devils and demons, golems, necromancers. Heck, maybe I'll add some new ones, too.
