The Female Dustbin Volume Two

THE BOOKMrs. Udoka lost five pregnancies previously. Now she fears for the safety of this one. The day she died, she went to throw away refuse at the pit behind her hut. While doing that, her baby came! -The community cries foul. Giving birth in a dustbin as an abomination punishable by death. -Her husband commits suicide same day because it is a girl, not a boy.-A mysterious bird appears same day crying blood. Every household lose an elder. -Local folks gather to stone the new born. Elders summon Diviners. They say the gods are angry. However, the newborn should not be killed but instead be kept at home and never allowed to marry. Elders name her Dustbin because she was born in a dustbin. An old witch, her late father's only surviving sister inherits her. While she was away, her only uncle rapes her at seven and absconds. Her future looks bleak. However, an America trained Medical Doctor rescues and sends her to school in the city to the annoyance of the villagers and the Diviners who never want her out of the village. The rapist returns from serving the rebel army. He gangs up with the old witch against the man who rescued her. When intimidation fails, they recruit vandals and assassins to attack the Doctor. They try blackmail but the man remains unmoved. Meanwhile, Dustbin grows, goes to high school, nursing school and university topping each class. She falls in love another Medical Doctor. One thing leads to the other and they decide to visit the village as required by the custom. The mysterious bird appears again on her arrival. They are attacked by the villagers. The foster parents and her fiancé are killed. She is shell shocked. Sent to a mental home. Operators of the mental home traffic her to Europe for prostitution. A year later she is repatriated and handed over to the same rapist uncle. He rapes and abuses her till she ran. She became a street sweeper. One day an American philanthropist sees her. Now the story begins: Why did he donate his millions his hard earned money to her? Is he paying attention out of pity or out of love? Will he marry her? If he does, will he too die like others that loved her? Will her life change for better? Will her uncle's plan to kidnap her and her benefactor succeed? Is she irredeemably cursed? Is she really a dustbin into which all the rubbish of life are thrown?
