CAROUSEL, the sequel to HELTER-SKELTER, picks up Albie's story in 1952.
He is contentedly immersed in the gypsy life, earning his living in the farms, towns and villages of Kent, until disaster strikes his family.
Drowning in grief, he settles in Thambay where his adoptive father George helps him raise his six children. Carousel tells how these children, born in a gypsy camp, adapt to a different life in their own unique ways.
Only when they are all independent is Albie able to return to his old life and eventually to find love again.
