The reproducible axis is grafted with multiple complications that end in abortion or miscarriage. The repetition of this accident constitutes recurrent spontaneous abortion (RSA), a condition that affects 2-5% of couples of reproductive age. The determinism of this pathological entity is variable: RSAs are not due to chance since epidemiological observations have reported higher frequencies in couples of reproductive age. On the other hand, once it was demonstrated that genetic defects were an important cause of developmental abnormalities, it became logical to think that they could also be responsible for RSA.
