Okra (Abelmoschus esculentus (L.) Moench) popularly known as ?Bhendi? is an important warm season vegetable, widely cultivated for its tender, green fruits. India is the largest producer of okra in the world and exports considerable amount of fresh okra to the international market, after fulfilling domestic demand. In India, okra mostly grown during kharif. It is also grown during early winter season of mid cool temperatures when price remains very high and farmers earn handsome remuneration from such an okra crop. Okra has good potential as foreign exchange crop. Plant growth regulators may be considered as a new generation agrochemicals after fertilizers, pesticides and herbicides. These are chemical substances, when added in small amounts, modify the growth of plants usually by stimulating or inhibiting part of the natural growth regulatory system. Besides the growth regulators, several nutrient elements especially micronutrients when applied as foliar sprays exert a profound influence on yield. With this background this book puts up information on suitable growth regulators and micronutrients to increase the yield potential in okra.
