In the art centre of Italy, Artemisia Gentileschi is born and raised to be an artist. With talents that surpass the male artists of the 1600s, Artemisia is thrust into the world of painting. While her success blooms, she is met with tragedies that threaten to break her artistic spirit. Betrayed by a friend, abused by a mentor, married to a gambler, and tortured through motherhood, Artemisia searches for freedom from the men that control her movement, her finances, and her practice.
