Ifeoma's heart pounds in sorrow and disappointment. At the University of Michigan, she enrolls for her postgraduate studies to correct her steps and the injustices meted out to her at the Nigerian University where some lecturers tried to sleep with her. Her sound rejection brings her academic troubles when the lecturers penalise her by tampering with her results and giving her poor marks. She is tormented by depression as she stays an extra year and then graduates from University with poor grades. All hell is let loose when she emerges a Professor from the University of Michigan and returns to her alma mater to head the same department where her enemies still work.
