Is He Worthy of Her Affection?
Ike Okorie
Rosemary, a returnee from the United States of America, loses her husband, three years after their return to Nigeria, in an auto-accident in Abuja, Nigeria where she and her husband live in the house of Tom, her husband's friend. If Rosemary would ever fall in love again, she would give her heart only to a man worthy of her affection. In her bereavement crisis she seeks to lean emotionally on Tom who considers this move inappropriate. In the course of time, Tom falls in love with Rosemary, and desires earnestly to marry her. But Rosemary becomes elusive and so the chase begins and goes back into the distant past throwing up intrigues, blackmails and threats even as the exploits of the descendants of Abam Onyerubi are recalled with pride. Would Rosemary surrender herself to Tom? Would they ever get married or would they allow the overwhelming odds they face to define their relationship? Would their relationship be adversely affected by the twisted ironies of life?
