Theosophy and the Secret Doctrine Condensed: the Races of Mankind 2nd edition

The word Theosophy is a combination of two Greek terms, theos (God), and Sophia (Wisdom), meaning the Wisdom of God, or Divine Wisdom. Theosophy was around long before Madame Blavatsky and Colonel Alcott started the Theosophical Society in 1875, but the society was an attempt to put this idea into action. The Secret Doctrine was a Blavatsky book that became the defining work for Theosophy, written as a large two volume set. Henderson has taken that work and condensed it into a more understandable form. The purpose of this book is to provide a clear overview of Theosophy ?s goals and to display the life of its colorful and vibrant founder, Madame Blavatsky. This book includes, as an added bonus, H. P. Blavatsky: An Outline of Her Life, by Herbert Whyte (two books in one). She was a legendary woman with great psychic abilities and one of the sharpest minds of her time.
