Laron Street
In April of 1966, a young unwed mother gave birth to a boy named David. Feeling it was better for David to be raised by his mother than a family that wanted to adopt him, she fled the comfortable foster family who loved her. "Life will make a way," she had been told. As she struggled in her own life, caught in the grips of drugs and alcohol, she watched life make a way with David. In the depressed streets of southwest Houston, the boy grew, surrounded by gangs and a cold life in the streets. This is his story.
