A Portrait of Michel Piccoli

Michel Piccoli was a giant of French cinema, and one of the most prolific and respected actors in the history of film. He worked with everyone from Jean-Luc Godard and Luis Bunuel, to Manoel Oliveira and Alfred Hitchcock, appearing in such landmark films as Belle De Jour, Contempt, The Discreet Charm of the Bourgeoisie, La Grande Bouffe, The Things of Life and The Beautiful Troublemaker. In this book, Chris Wade explores Piccoli's huge legacy and body of work, while also interviewing various collaborators who recall their memories of Michel, including Catherine Deneuve, Harriet Walter and Michel Deville.
