8th International Symposium on Modeling, Analysis, and Simulation of Computer and Telecommunications Systems (Mascots 2000)

Contains 70 papers presented at the August 2000 symposium. The three invited talks discuss networks with cognitive packets, challenges in the performance evaluation of communication networks, and scaling for e-business. Tool sessions provide presentations on performance, traffic, and simulation and analysis. Major areas of discussion for the remaining papers are performance evaluation of the world wide web, wireless systems and protocols, distributed systems and applications, workload analysis, and network modeling and simulation.
